The mascara is just okay to me. The brush is really thick which is nice but it makes it harder to apply the mascara compared to curved brushes. When I used this brush, I got mascara all over the side of my cheek next to my eye. The color is a little odd. Im typically dedicated to black mascara but I was open to the purple color. When its applied, it looks black, so Im thinking maybe in the sunlight it shows purple. Finally, it is hard to get the lashes to plump up, even after a couple of coats. I am typically a big fan of the black mascara, but I was super excited to try out the burgundy color for a change, and the promised volume was an added bonus. The burgundy didnt show up like I was expecting. The only way you saw it was when you would wipe it off. I do wish the color was more vibrant and noticeable! The name states that it is a “volume building mascara” and it took me a few layers to finally see some added volume. One benefit is that the mascara is formulated to resist clumping, it went on so smooth and seemed to separate and hit every single lash extremely well. I wanted to love this product, but its not for me. I tried this twice: 1ce when layering it with waterproof mascara (to “glue” the curl in place) and one on curled, clean lashes. Wanted: something that would make the green in my hazel eyes pop and color that would show up on my dark lashes. Got: bright color upon application that faded as the product dried. Pros: smooth application (but got clumpy with 3rd layer when I tried for more color) Cons: color didnt deliver solo and looked non-existent when layered over waterproof mascara.
