Account of the war fought in the Greek Islands of the Eastern Mediterranean during WWII to secure the Aegean Sea. Also records the operations of units such as the Greek Sacred Squadron, the Royal Marine commandos and the Levant Schooner Flotilla in combination with the navy and army forces of a number of countries including Australia. Includes personal accounts of escapes from occupied areas. The author was involved in the early days of the resistance, and is the foundation president of the Naval Historical Society of Australia. He is the editor of 'Australian Shipyards', and his other publications include 'Escape from Crete' which was produced as a film in 1986, and 'Australia's Men of War'.
