I had a few Relion Micro test strips left when i bought this Prime meter so i tested the same drop of blood and the Prime meter was always alot higher.As high as 75 points.I bought it because the test strips were the lowest cost of all other walmart brands.Another problem that happens alot is when you slide the test strip in, it sometimes doesnt turn on the meter and if you dont notice it and add blood,you wasted a strip.There is no beep when it turns on or gives results and i didnt see in the manual how to turn the sound on.Maybe i bought a bad meter? It is also difficult to insert the strip in the narrow slot.Ill be going back to my old meter as soon as i use up the strips.I buy Relion swabs and syringes and theyre the best buy for someone like me with no insurance but im disapointed in this meter. I am using this machine and it gives me good readings on my sugar but this morning I decided to have my hospital checked my sugar and the reading was totally off the machine read 97 this morning and the hospital reading was 174 I am totally confused. Will return this machine and try another then I will give another review

VERY HARD TO INSERT THE TEST STRIP AND ALL MOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE BLOOD INTO THE TEST STRIP. I USED 12 STRIPS TO GET 1 READING. SAVE YOURSELF THE PROBLEMS AND BUY A QUALITY PRODUCT. YOU WILL SPEND MORE ON TEST STRIPS WITH ALL THE ONES THAT DONT WORK

Maybe I got a bad one, but I will be returning this to Wal Mart. Have been unable to calibrate it using the control solution, (per manual) the readings between this, and the other BG system that my husband has, (requiring much more expensive test strips) , vary as much as 50 points or greater. You dont want your loved one using unnecessary insulin, but when the Relion says your blood sugar is over 200, and your other meter says youre within normal limits, theres something wrong. The meter is extremely easy to use, it came out of the box with all the pertinent time/date info already set and correct. It has a big easy to see display, and tests quickly. See more

This is an inexpensive tester compared to others that I have used. The readings that I am getting is off by at least 20 points from the tester that I have verified and used for a couple of years. It also requires a fairly large blood sample compared to other testers. Pay the extra money and get an accurate product.
