Equate Extra Comfort Mint Dental Floss, 40m, 2 Count

I received this item free to write a review. I use dental floss approximately 2-3 times a day and I normally use Oral-B or Reach both flavored and unflavored (mint). I switched out my usual brands and tried Equate. I liked the comfort a lot. No matter if your teeth are crooked, snagged, some too close, some further apart, it worked very well cleaning out between them. Sometimes in one particular area in my mouth the dental floss will just tear in half and that didnt happen when I used this kind. It ran much more smoothly between my teeth and the floss didnt snag or start to come apart in my problem areas. The only reason I didnt give the floss 5 stars is because it is very slippery so in order to keep it wrapped around my fingers I had to use a longer length than I would normally use; however, I think its the smoothness that actually makes it more comfortable for my mouth. I think this works just as well if not better than your name brand dental flosses. See more

The Equate Extra Comfort Mint Dental Floss comes in a 2-pack. I was expecting its color to be green, as it is mint flavored. However, it is white in color though it is very minty. In fact, the mint flavor is a tad overdone. I would have preferred a little less mint. The floss has not frayed in my use of it. This is an added benefit. Ive always had difficulty with other flosses fraying and then getting hooked up on a tooth. This floss remains throughout flossing. Rather than having to force the floss in between teeth, and therefore causing gums to bleed, this Equate floss slid very easily between my teeth. I would recommend this floss to everyone. See more

I use a lot of floss. I keep it everywhere. Let me start by saying I like dental "floss" and I do not particularly like dental "tape" style floss. This floss is more of a tape style floss, so it is not my favorite but that is just my preference. Overall, the floss works great. It gets into all the nooks and crannies and gets all the ick out. It has a great minty flavor and it was easy to use for the most part. I say, for the most part, because I do have some major dental work. Some of that dental work is really tight together in my mouth. In those spaces this floss, that is a bit thicker or wider, is difficult for me to use in those spots. That would be my only complaint, but that is strictly a personal issue, not a product issue. Overall, it is great floss even though it is not my preferred type. See more

I tried the Equate floss last night. Since I didnt have my glasses on I thought the floss was the regular one and not the dental tape. This morning with my glasses on and ready to write my review, I see that the floss is more like a dental tape although the packaging does not say that. Unless the manufacturers are making the floss a little wider then the usual very thin skinny kind now a days. I havent bought floss in many years because I just use what my dentist gives me after each cleaning. I have my teeth cleaned quarterly so the little container last me until the next visit. To me the floss didnt feel very wide so maybe this isnt a dental tape and is not waxed. Im use to using the waxed type because its not so slippery. I feel that the waxed floss cleans my teeth better. As I was using the floss I thought it felt a little too thin for me. The floss is a little too smooth and I had to wrap it around my finger several times. This means I have to use more floss so a container wont last too long. The floss had a nice mint flavor which is a plus but I dont necessarily have to have it. I just received the floss the day before and tried the floss last night. I havent had a chance to see if the floss will shred in between my teeth yet. I have that problem with other brands and its very annoying. Hopefully the Equate brand wont do that. I will find out when I use the floss again tonight. I think the Equate floss did the job as well as any other brand. Im not sure what Equate means by extra comfort, to me the only difference would be regular or dental tape. Im not picky about brands. I like this floss very much and the only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I do not like the container and the way that the lid opens, I realize that this is supposed to be just like the name brand but honestly the lid is a pain to get open, especially for people who are not very nimble, the way it is designed does not leave you much to hold onto while trying to pop open the lid. The floss itself is great, very smooth and easy to get between and out of your teeth, I had no trouble with floss breaking or tearing and I really liked the mint flavor, it was mild and smooth. I definitely would recommend this floss, just beware that the container is small and not easy to open so it may be difficult for people who have a hard time grasping things. See more
